Tip of the Week: Easily Share a Website from Your Smartphone to Your PC

Sometimes you might be browsing the Internet on your phone and come across an interesting tip or page that you want to share with your other device to access later. On Android, you can easily send the webpage to your PC when using the Chrome browser.

Let’s take a look at how you can access the same web page you were just viewing on your mobile device on your workstation, or vice versa.

Options for Pushing Pages in Chrome

First, let’s look at how you can look at a page on one device, then transfer it to the other. If you are signed into your Google profile in both locations, you can just look at your browser history to see the activity and open any previously accessed pages.

  • On the desktop, open Chrome and press Ctrl + H to look at your History. On the smartphone, open up the Chrome app and tap on the three-dot menu, then navigate to Recent tabs. You should see your complete browsing history from anywhere you are signed into Chrome. You can use this to find any page you have browsed.
  • If you are currently reading something and want to push it from one device to another, you can do so pretty easily too. From the desktop version of Chrome, you should see an option on the right side of the address bar that looks like an arrow coming out of a corner. When you hover over it, it should say Share This Page. Clicking it gives you the option to Send to Your Devices. You then just have to pick your device from the list, keeping in mind that you need to be signed in to your Google account on the specified device. From Android, tap the three-dot menu and select Share. A panel will appear and give you the option to Send to Your devices.

We hope this process takes some of the friction out of sharing pages between your devices. We are all about breaking down barriers to productivity, and we like to share these kinds of tricks whenever we get a chance.
